I have read hundreds of manga and as of chapter 106 of this one, it easily places within my top 5 favorite manga of all time. (The anime is equally wonderful and the art in it even better than the manga art, just as a side note). I absolutely love the characters in this. All of the main characters are so well developed, complicated, interesting, and charming. It's one of those stories where even the main villian has depth and has redeemable qualities so that he isn't just this flat 100% bad/evil entity that you get in most stories. Another thing I love about this is that it has romance but the romance is not the sole focus of the story. The action and adventure are the driving force and the romance just props it up along the way. I wish everyone would give this story a chance because I really feel it has something to offer for most manga lovers, even ones who might not ordinarily go for a story of this genre.

Fuckings awsome. I have no words. I finally catched up on the manga. This is the best shit i read in a long time. I reccomend you to take your time reading it and full out enjoy it, especially if it is your first time. Nothing is like the first.

This manga has the best character development!! Hhonestly I have CHEERED along with some panels in this because I've gotten so excited! It has plot twists, lots of character growth and not an annoying amount of romance - instead it's well balanced and realistic.

I honestly think this is my favorite manga of all time. The story is exciting and includes so many different aspects of life. It has some fantasy and adventure but also includes many much deeper topics. The art is also absolutely beautiful . The characters have to be the best part of this anime though. The main character Yona starts off as a spoiled princess, not really able to do anything but as the story progresses she gets stronger. Something really great about this was that it didn't go to fast and Yona struggles until the very end. The other characters were wonderful as well and everyone had their own strengths and weaknesses. Overall, this manga is amazing and I can recommend it to anyone considering reading it!

I got this manga off of the anime as I watched the anime before reading the manga. If I hadn't noticed there was a manga extended for this series, I would've been missing out so much- The plot, the character, the development, etc.. EVERYTHING is literally over the top. This was one of the few series I was okay with reading past 100 chapters and every chapter drags readers in and doesn't drag at all. The thrill and the hints of romance hit so hard some panals had me screaminggg. I really recommend EVERYONE to at least give this a shot and read it NOW!!! This is one of the two mangas I am willing to read until the day I die.

I freaking love Yona's growth as a character everything that unfolds in this story felt so satisfying as she moves on from the castle like a boss and gathers her beloved cronies dragon kin then proceeds to build a reputation of her own AND also managing to cross paths with Soo Won in the process just to stomp in his face hahaha. I love everything about it, came right after the anime thinking it's on par with it but I received so much more from the manga. All hail queen Yona and Hak's undying loyalty + oozing hotness. Ya should still read it from the start despite having seen the anime, it's much better to relish the story from beginning till the end in manga form

Akatsuki no Yona is an amazing story. Yona, the protagonist, goes from a weak, spoiled girl to such a badass MC. The supporting characters are all likeable and have their own fleshed-out backgrounds and stories as well. The main antagonist (though there are several others) is complex and in that morally gray zone, which makes it hard for me to sort out my feelings for them. There is romance, magic, violence, political intrigue, and so much more. The art is amazing as well. Also, the action is incredible and can get really intense, which is rare in shoujo manga. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

i dont usually do reviews but this manga has a special place in my heart. i continued reading it on from where the anime finished, and in my opinion, it just got better. you get more of a development with all of the characters, and how their relationships deepen and become unbreakable. it doesn't seem like it is dragging on but actually has relevant developments throughout. READ IT IF YOU'VE JUST FINISHED THE ANIME.

i had never read a manga before this one, the anime enthralled me. it's really funny and sweet but also very tense and dramatic. the art is so pretty, i have physical copies on display. i suffered heart damage from the excitement of reading this manga with an unassuming start but a wonderful progression

The first few chapters of the manga are hard to get into. Personally, I thought it was just going to be a weak girl having a mental meltdown and be crying almost every minute of the manga. She cried a little, but she was determined to get stronger to protect the people she loves.

This is my first ever review but I felt like that this one needed one. ( My brain is a bit tired, please forgive my poor writing and lack of proof reading) Typically I stay far away fromromance anime and manga due to the fact that the entire plot seems to be focused on the romance itself everything takes back burner. This however does not do that. It is the plot that sucked me in and the main character too. I think I too am in ove with this manga's main character! Any how joking aside I think Yona is one of my favorite characters of all time. She is a very dynamic character and her changes are for the positive. I am so tired of female main characters that are useless and this is the story about amain charactert that decided she wont be useless! I am reading this to watch Yona's transformation fromthe sterotypical useless girl that all the men are in love with to a woman who can command her own respect and stand on her own two feet. Any how I am a bit tired, I just wrote this review because I am pretty sure the whole reverse harm/romance tag would turn readers such as myself away (it turned me away until I was so bored it was all I had to read). The thing I dont like about this manga is The only thing this manga is missing is a woman fawning over the main character. While that would be nice that isnt actually the draw back of this. The draw back for me is the fact that it does have that stero typical rmance bs that writers are so fond of. That one where every time the romantic interest tries to lay out their feelings the one they are confessing to (The one that you knowthe feelings are mutual) mistakes what is being convayed or some event just so HAPPENS to inturrupt. After a little while it should be obvious and like they should just hook up because the rest of the plot would still happen if they did. (I dont particularly care for the teasing romance writing. It irritates me)
